V-Ray Materials (Step3)

In this video I’ll show you particular settings related to this materials:
Glass, Coloured glass, Weft curtain and Translucency plastic.

VIDEO-CONCEPTS

  • Use fog Color to create a coloured refractions
  • Use Fog multiplier to control the color intensity
  • Use Max Depht to control the amount of details retrive throght the glass
  • Use trabslucency box for flat translucency effects
  • Use a map into aside of hte translucency box to control the effect
  • Use VRay2Sided material for single-sided translucent objects
  • Use VRayFastSSS2 material for thiker objects
  • With Raytraced Solid instead of Simple youcan get more accurate SSS simulation
  • With “diffuse amount” balance the diffuse and scatter colors

You can also use VRay2Sided Mtl for the white petals, since they are single-sided ojects.
The result is not extremely different from a regular VRayMtl, but it’s a soft detail. Those nuances can make the difference in great renders:

 Exercise

Start from FILE2 (light balance complete) and create the 4 materials I showed you.
Focus just on these 4. You should achive a result very close to this one:
