Hi Ciro did not quite understand when to use the map in the REFLECT GLOSINESS, for instance because the material used in black leather, not the alligator material?
Another question, why sometimes use gray on the diffuse and sometimes black? that differences according to that material??
Ciro, thank you very much, very good job.
Hi Kepa,
a map in reflect glossiness is to MAP the glossiness. Without map you get an uniform glossy, with map youhave different glossyin different locations. (check this useful post > https://www.cg-blog.com/?p=979 ) – – – The color in diffuse is just the color. Sometimes I leave gray if I have a map… in fact in this case V-Ray only consider the map.
hey ciro, first of all thanks for the incredible mat library materials
second, i am struggling in alucobond material for exteriors, i hope you an include it in your next kit.
thanksssss
Hi Ciro,
Superb work and really really helpful, Thanks
hey, I dont get that light bulb working, I dont have “compensate camera exposure”? What to do?, (max 2011) 🙂
it depends on vray… probably you have old version. Just use multiplier.
Hi Ciro,
Thank You…I`m happy to become one of your new subscriber…This is very useful…
I am having trouble unziping the max-textures-kit2 any other people having this problem?
Hi Philip,
try this link https://www.cg-blog.com/files/Premium/materials/k2.zip 😉
hi ciro can you make rusty or something like that material with perfect displacement?
Hi Donny, please check this exercise: https://www.cg-blog.com/index.php/2010/01/09/displacement-map.htm
lacquered material options 🙂 thanks
nice & really great works tq.
Ciro,
One of the things I’ve notices when using the 2.2 Gamma settings is that I can never get the colors that I use in the materials editor to match my rendering. The rendering is always a different hue or saturation color. I need to have the colors match as close as possible. Is there something that I may be doing wrong?
Many Thanks,
Hi Ricky,
please check the LESSON 2 and you’ll have the full matching.
Lesson2 is fundamental but many users go over.. check it and use my settings 😉
Awsome.. Great learning material. Thanks.
Hello Ciro,
I am downloading the second kit of materials, but for some reason the max file does not opening propely. It gets me the message “file open failed”. Is there anty other way to have this max file?
Hi Viktoria,
it should be fixed… try again please 🙂
🙁 Ciro unfortunately I still can’t opes the max file from the second kit of materials. I even tried to merge it to a new document of max, but still nothing. Have you changed the version of max you were working?
Hey Viktoria… refresh the page and try again! The new name is “kit2-2010.zip”… can you confirm?
Thanks Ciro. Now everything is OK! 🙂
